Hi, I’m EVAN HARRISON. I was born in NYC, and grew up 45 miles south in East Brunswick, Central Jersey. Close enough to tons of bars, clubs and everything that mattered later.

But before that, music was about whatever was playing in the car, and my hippie Uncle Steve’s record collection.

Then, RADIO… that changed everything. WPLJ, WNEW, WPRB, WMMR. Record Stores, Spin, Rolling Stone. Cover bands in basements. That was the foundation.

I started Evan’s 111 Artist list several years ago, prompted by Luli and Rex’s interest, they now realize just how special the music we grew up with remains.

My 111 is in the order of discovery, when each artist resonated. Starting in the late 70’s and through a 30-year career in the music business.

Every one of these comes with a story, most of them are fun to tell.
